Texas Wagyu Association Annual Meeting and Sale

Texas Wagyu Association Annual Meeting And Sale
Hello everyone

I want let you know that we plan to have the Texas Wagyu annual meeting and sale in Salado Texas on April 23rd and 24th at Tenroc ranch.  We have reserved rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Salado at a special rate.  To reserve your room and get this rate please call 254-947-4004 and tell them you are with the Texas Wagyu Association.

We realize that not everyone will be comfortable coming to the meeting in person yet, so we are working on a way you can participate virtually.  More details to follow on this.  We are also going to shorten the meeting so it will be conducive to participate virtually.  Our tentative agenda is:

Thursday April 22
All Day – Check in cattle to be sold

Friday April 23rd
Noon – 3:00 – View Cattle
3:00 – 4:00 – Register and get signed in
4:00 – 5:00 – Robert Williams, Ph.D. – Executive Director of the American Wagyu Association
5:00 – 6:00 – Texas Wagyu Association Annual Meeting and Election of board members

6:00 – Silent Auction / Wagyu Snacks / Drinks

Saturday April 24th
8:00 – 11:30 – View Cattle
11:30 – 1:00 – Wagyu Brisket Lunch
1:00 – “The Steaks are high” Wagyu Sale (in person and on-line)

This year, we will again send invoices out for your annual dues in addition to renewal notices coming out from our web site.  We are sending out invoices for efficiency and better record keeping.  Look for those invoices to come out shortly.  It is important to have your membership paid up by the annual meeting in order to participate in the board election process.

To put animals into the sale, please see the nomination form with instructions that was sent by email earlier by wagyusales@schacherauction.com or if you did not receive this email you may request another form by sending an email to wagyusales@schacherauction.com.  The deadline for entering animals into the sale is March 10th.  We will have all animals to be sold arrive in Salado on Thursday April 23.  Once sold either in person or virtually they can be either picked up in Salado or shipped from Salado by speaking with the sales manager.

Demand for Wagyu cattle remains very strong and we are working hard to get our sale and annual meeting back to as close to normal as we possibly can.  We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible either in person or on-line in Salado.  Stay safe and feel free to reach out to me or any of your board members with questions or concerns.

Rick Turner
President Texas Wagyu Association
